DjangoCon AU Closing Address

Katie (they/she, @glasnt) is currently Secretary of the Django Software Foundation, and a Python Software Foundation Fellow. They have previously been a Director of the Python Software Foundation, and core organiser of PyCon AU and PyConline. They were awarded the O'Reilly Open Source Award in 2017, and Honorary Lifetime Member of the New Zealand Python User's Group in 2022. When they’re not running all the things, they enjoy cooking, making tapestries, and seeing just how well various application stacks handle emoji.

Holding the host torch for the Melbourne based community of Djangonauts 'MelbDjango', Liz (she/her) hails from Common Code who are known for their elite bunch of Django software engineers. Liz comes from a slightly different background herself, working on national and international festivals and arts events, bringing large scale productions to life in operations, logistics and production. When Liz isn't with technologists or running events, she adventures somewhere off the beaten track, reads deep tech newsletters or gets outside in the garden (forever trying to get basil to not die).
